Filming food-
My next film includes scenes where I will be filming someone cooking. I wanted to learn more about how people shoot videos that deal with food, so I can better the quality of my film. Here is a list of tips and things I have learned from researching food videos.
- Shots, where food is being prepped, can be boring. To add more to the shots add more motion to the shot or utilize audio by using the sounds you hear from cooking.
- Speeding up or slowing down footage can add an emotional element to the video.
- Use camera movements to create a more professional look.
- Use interesting camera angles to show off food. Switch between different angles.
- Try to use natural lighting.
- Keep things simple and show food the way it looks. Try not to use unnatural color grading or lighting.
