MP2 Reflections

 Reflections:

After watching everyone present their projects. I wanted to focus on three projects that I felt could help improve my films for the future. In this blog post I will be reflecting on the following students projects Noah Josef, Sean Hopkins, and Makayla Forbes.

I believe Noah created a really good quality film. The camera quality was clear and his editing was very well done. I want to strive for that kind of quality for my films. Especially with editing, some of the effects and Noah's style of editing is something I really respect. I hope to improve my editing and quality of films in the future.

Sean Hopkins film interested me because of its incorporation of animation in a live action film. It is an idea that has always interested me and it was exciting to see someone in our class accomplish that. The drawings that Sean used were well done and the meaning behind the drawings was very creative. I would be open to incorporating animation into films whether it is actually drawings or animated effects. I think it is a very fascinating idea and I hope to further explore the idea in the future.

Lastly, what I took away from Makayla's film was her use of color grading and lighting. Not only did they create a visual detail but she also used them to convey emotions. She used both warm and cool colors for different scenes. My last film did not incorporate lighting or color grading seriously, and I want to change that. In my next film I plan to actually color grade and focus more on lighting.
