Intention Definition & Exploration of Ideas: This year I wanted to focus on the theme of the representation of everyday life. I choose this theme because I feel it suits my style of filming the best. That is why I wanted to begin this year by creating a film about balancing work and personal life. Working whether it's school or a job is something we can all relate to. Often we get caught up in work and forget to actually enjoy life. My film was created to support the idea that we should never forget to enjoy life.

Planning: At first I had no idea what I wanted to do for my first film. The only idea I had was something that incorporated a monkey. It turns out Noah had a similar idea. We discussed how we would incorporate a monkey into a film about the representation of everyday life. We then decided to make films that would connect with each other. Both films would have a message of creating a healthy balance between work and personal life. Having a monkey as one of the main characters would make the film more entertaining and add a comedic element to the film.

Evaluating: From an idea that was created from a joke I am content with the final film. I am proud of the story and characters that Noah and I created. I thought the music I integrated for different moods in the film was executed well. Another strength would be my voiceover. I spoke clearly and in the tone I was looking for. My ability to portray emotions while also wearing a mask was another element that I was proud of. There were also weaknesses that I wanted to focus on to improve future films. First off, the settings I used could be improved. Some of the settings I used interfered with the believability of the film. In addition, I want to be more intentional with my use of principles of design and camera angles. I already plan out certain shots and include principles of design. However, I sometimes tend to stray away from my original plan which ruins some shots.

Integrating: Making this film I used experiences from past films to help me. For example, I created a voiceover for a film I made last year. I was able to use what I learned last time to improve my voice-over for this film. I also became more comfortable using the studio which can help when creating films in the future. My editing was another aspect that saw improvement. I learned more about transitions and music through investigations, which helped when adding them to my film.  I look at the creation of this film as a way to get back into the swing of making films. It has been awhile since I have worked with a camera or premiere pro. I see this film as a way to become more comfortable with the process of filming again.
